Mandala Productions continues to expand its role in Asia’s film and television ecosystem, combining over two decades of expertise in production services with a sharpened focus on original content designed for global audiences. With its deep understanding of international standards and the unique cultural richness of Asia, Mandala bridges the gap between global storytellers and the region’s diverse landscapes, stories, and people.
Known as one of the most trusted partners for international broadcasters and streamers filming in Asia, Mandala specializes in production services, facilitation, and multi-country shoots—from lean, agile crews to large-scale set-ups. The team’s strength has always been its adaptability: evolving with new technologies, keeping logistics and creativity tight, and drawing on solid global connections to deliver ambitious productions seamlessly. Whether it’s a small documentary unit needing local insights or a full-scale feature film requiring multiple locations, Mandala ensures that every detail is handled with precision.
At this year’s Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) in Busan, Mandala reinforced its commitment to pushing forward the Asian identity on the global stage. Regular participants at the market, the company continues to forge alliances with film commissions and film tourism offices while presenting original stories that cross borders. This presence not only solidifies Mandala’s role as a service provider but also positions it as a creative force actively contributing to Asia’s evolving narrative in global media.
Mandala’s current development slate includes:
Journey to Love – the flagship project, a six-part documentary series exploring rituals, relationships, and the ways love adapts across Asia.
Detour – a feature film where three women confront buried truths during the chaos of Philippine fiestas.
Toujours – a romance-drama set on the French Riviera, tracing the intertwined lives of two brothers and a Filipina artist.
The slate also marks the return of Ianco de la Cruz, Mandala pioneer and multi-awarded TVC director, bringing his creative homecoming to both fiction and non-fiction storytelling.
Why the Philippines?
The Philippines is consistently ranked as one of the easiest and friendliest film locations in Asia. With a largely bilingual workforce, world-class industry-tested crews, and a reputation for warm hospitality, the country offers visiting productions not just cost efficiency but creative and logistical excellence. From pristine coastlines to bustling urban centers, the Philippines provides diverse backdrops paired with professional support at every stage of production.
Why Asia?
Asia remains one of the most varied and timely regions for storytelling. Its mix of the old and the new—ancient traditions alongside cutting-edge modernity—offers global storytellers a rich canvas of perspectives, visuals, and narratives. For producers and broadcasters looking to resonate with diverse audiences, Asia’s stories are not only relevant but essential.
Mandala’s continued alliance with Vietnam’s trusted production team CreaTV is testament to how Southeast Asian production services can come together to make stories come alive. These partnerships underscore the region’s readiness to deliver content that is both culturally authentic and globally compelling.
“Our partnership with CreaTV shows how Southeast Asian production services are working as one to meet global standards. It’s an exciting time to see the region stepping forward together,” says Johanna Kirsten Lagman, Producer, Mandala Productions.
“No matter what the vehicle, good stories deserve to be shared. It is what makes human connections and understanding stronger in these volatile times,” adds Ianco de la Cruz, multi-awarded TVC director and Mandala pioneer.
Mandala continues to embrace AI-assisted workflows and technological tools to ensure world-class execution while maintaining its hallmark adaptability. With the support of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Mandala is helping strengthen not only the Philippines’ film presence but also Asia’s visibility in the global arena.
