Reston, VA – P20 | EMS Studios, with locations in Herndon and Tysons, is proud to announce their an exciting Spring Fest charitable event, which will be held on Saturday, May 17th, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM at the Lansdowne Resort. This year’s event aims to raise awareness and funds for the local charity Reset180, an organization dedicated to combating human trafficking in Northern Virginia. P20 was introduced to Reset180 through its membership with the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, which allowed the studio to learn more about the significant impact the organization has in the local community.
P20 | EMS Studios uses Electronic Muscle Stimulation (EMS), an advanced fitness technology that accelerates muscle strengthening via joint friendly and time efficiency for maximum effectiveness. In a 20 minute customized session, the EMS method provides a workout equivalent to 90 minutes of traditional strength training. P20 believes that when making people stronger, they are healthier and therefore happier. Healthy and happy people contribute positively to the community’s wellness. The dedicated trainers are truly EMS Fitness Experts delivering quick results to the clientele which in turn improves their lives and the lives of those around them.
“The P20 EMS workout method utilizes electrical impulses to stimulate muscle contractions, allowing for quicker strength gains for fitness and faster recovery when injured,” says Connie Ruiz, co-founder and owner of P20 | EMS Studios. She, along with her daughter Carmen, manages the business and remains dedicated to helping individuals achieve their fitness goals. “Our focus is on helping busy professionals, especially those over the age of 50 and people who are taking GLP-1 medications, as these groups face challenges related to muscle mass loss. EMS helps mitigate muscle loss by recruiting all muscle fibers, a task that is difficult to accomplish with traditional exercises,” explains Ruiz.
The Spring Fest event will feature an evening of entertainment, networking, and fundraising. The event is designed to bring together P20’s loyal clientele while supporting the important work of Reset180. P20 will donate 10% of all ticket sales to Reset180, underscoring the studio’s commitment to addressing the critical issue of human trafficking in the local area. Human trafficking is a prevalent issue, with reports suggesting that over 250 illicit massage businesses are operating within Northern Virginia, many of which are located near schools in Fairfax County.
P20 | EMS Studios first became aware of the scope of human trafficking in the area when they were introduced to Reset180 in 2024. The organization’s work became even more meaningful to the Ruiz family following the passing of Pedro Ruiz, Connie’s husband and Carmen’s father, from leukemia. In honor of his memory, the family chose to support a local charity rather than receiving flowers, recognizing the importance of addressing the issue of human trafficking in their community. “Our family deeply understands the urgency of tackling this issue, and we continue to use events like Spring Fest to contribute to these efforts while honoring Pedro’s legacy,” says Ruiz.
Spring Fest promises to be an evening full of purpose, as the community comes together to support Reset180 and raise awareness about the issue of human trafficking. In addition to the donation from ticket sales, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in conversations about how they can play a role in combating this serious issue within their own communities.
