The path to the stage was anything but easy, but Kahn had already learned one lesson that would guide him through every hardship: Never stop pushing forward.

In 2018, as the cold New York winter crept in, Kahn faced one of the most difficult nights of his life. With no place to stay, he spent Thanksgiving night homeless, riding the subway and PATH trains just to stay warm. “It was a cold, cold night,” Kahn recalls. “I promised myself then that if I survived this, I’d make sure my comedy carried the truth of where I came from.”
That night became a defining moment in his life. Surviving those frigid hours gave Kahn the emotional fuel he needed to push forward, but it also cemented his belief in the power of storytelling. His comedy, he decided, would not be just about laughs, it would be a testament to his resilience and the truth of his experiences. His unique perspective on identity, faith, and the immigrant experience would be at the core of his comedy.
While he worked odd jobs to support himself and his family in Pakistan and South Africa, Kahn turned to comedy as his outlet. “My family always comes first. Sending money back home was a responsibility I never took lightly,” he says. Comedy for Good was my way of proving that laughter could be more than entertainment,” Kahn explains. “It could be a bridge for change. We were using comedy to raise awareness and support for those who need it the most, like children and families affected by crisis.”
The success of Comedy for Good helped elevate Kahn’s career, but it was his determination and authenticity that began to capture the attention of the wider comedy scene.
