OpenAI is not the only player in developing AI-focused coding capabilities. In March 2024, Cognition AI introduced a coding assistant named Devin, which claims to be the first AI software engineer. However, initial testing revealed that Devin could only successfully complete a small fraction of assigned coding tasks.
