Positive Seed presents makin’ wake
Makin’ Wake, a distinctive initiative combining adventure with philanthropy, is inviting supporters to “Get On Board” in a mission to raise $100,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). This June, the Makin’ Wake team will begin an ambitious journey to complete the Great Loop, a 6,000-mile waterway route that spans the Eastern United States on a pontoon boat. Through this extraordinary adventure, the team aims to bring much-needed attention and resources to RMHC’s important work of keeping families close during times of medical crises.
“The Great Loop is more than just a journey,” says Captain Darren Hayes. “It’s a metaphor for how connected we are and how far we can go when we come together. By joining forces, we can make a tremendous impact for families in need.”
Ronald McDonald House Charities provide vital services, including housing and support, for families with critically ill children receiving medical care. Through this partnership, Makin’ Wake hopes to raise both awareness and funds to help RMHC continue its mission of keeping families together during difficult times. With every contribution, supporters are making a tangible difference for families in need, helping to ensure that they can stay close to their children during challenging medical treatments.
How to “Get On Board”
Makin’ Wake invites individuals, businesses, and organizations to participate in the cause in a variety of ways:
- Making a Donation: Every dollar donated brings the campaign closer to the $100,000 goal, contributing to RMHC’s mission.
- Sponsorship Opportunities: Sponsors can enjoy visibility throughout the journey, including branding on the boat, promotional materials, and social media shout-outs.
- Following the Journey: The public can stay updated on Makin’ Wake’s progress through videos, blogs, and social media posts chronicling the highs and challenges of this remarkable adventure.
About the Great Loop
The Great Loop is one of the world’s most remarkable boating challenges, taking participants through notable waterways such as the Mississippi River, the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, and the Great Lakes. The route spans 6,000 miles and connects rivers, lakes, canals, and other inland waterways, providing a unique and immersive experience of the United States. The journey symbolizes perseverance, collaboration, and community—values that perfectly align with the mission of RMHC.
For Captain Darren Hayes, the Great Loop represents more than just an adventure; it’s an opportunity to show how communities can come together to support those in need.
